Scott started his career with NBBJ Architects in Seattle, joining the Retail Design Studio upon its conception. He created successful prototype and roll out programs for such brands as Williams-Sonoma, The Nature Company, Eddie Bauer, Jay Jacobs and Ralph Lauren Factory Stores. Each project included the complete integration of architecture, interior design, fixture design, product presentation, and graphic communication. This was an opportunity to define many different store programs from department store to specialty retail.

Scott joined the brand design team of Nike, as lead designer for the Nike Town program, as well as developing the Nike Shop program internationally. He then relocated to Hong Kong, as Asia Pacific regional creative director of brand and retail. As a member of the regional marketing team, responsibilities included marketing strategy, store design, in-store graphic programs, regional office and showroom design, regional and localized collateral design, brand identity standards, event design, fixture, and display development.

Upon returning to Nike global headquarters, Scott took on the role of global brand creative director, leading the category design teams in brand development and execution. He also led the global brand team in the development of a new universal brand identity and brand packaging program.

From Nike, Scott went to Landor Associates, leading retail branding and environmental design for national and global brands such as British Petroleum and Mayor’s Jewelers. He also created a new brand language and store concept for Ebel Paris (Belcorp, Lima, Peru). Scott’s experience in South America expanded as Ebel Paris opened more stores across the region. Scott continued to lead photography direction for Belcorp’s brand Esika and L’bel as a consultant for over the course of eight years.

Tapped by Nike, Scott joined Cole Haan as Director of brand and retail design. The goal, to revitalize a classic footwear brand into an American casual luxury brand, with a global reach. Scott directed a new visual language for brand design, graphic design, and a new store design leveraged throughout the U.S. and Asia.

Scott joined Nau, an urban styled outdoor lifestyle apparel brand. As one of the founding team members, Scott was a key member in developing the brand DNA and attributes, which led to the identity, store design, graphic communication and digital customer experience. He also developed real estate strategy, store prototype and roll out plan, opening five stores with ten additional stores in the works within three years of brand conception.

Scott joined the Marcom team of Apple, as the global creative director of channel, which led a team of graphic designers and architects on global shop in shop programs, specialty retailer store design, product display, and new product launches around the world.

Scott opened and led Tank Design’s San Francisco studio, the first Tank Design presence on the West coast. Scott worked closely with Belcorp (Lima, Peru) developing a new brand and category of health and wellness for the South American market. He also directed brand strategy, identity, collateral, retail presentation, packaging and digital design for Stio, Commune Hotels, Thompson Hotels and Joie De Vivre Hotels.

As creative director of marketing for The North Face, Scott led an internal photographic and graphic design team, as well as outside creative agencies. Scott also built the first in-house digital design team as The North Face migrated digital support from outside agencies. Maintaining the integrity of this iconic brand, Scott directed identity, brand voice, graphic design standards, photography strategy and photography art direction. Scott also led implementation of advertising, retail graphics, events and photography for North America, Europe and Asia.

Scott joined Bambeco as vice president of creative, a home decor brand grounded in sustainably designed and produced products from around the world. He joined Bambeco to lead brand and digital design, as well as develop a retail strategy for showrooms across the country. Scott also developed trade show and wholesale brand experiences.

Outside of brand and retail design and creative direction, Scott, with two partners, has developed a small inn and boutique hotel in Palm Springs. Scott leads design and development of both environments and marketing for both properties, as well as oversight of renovations and furniture manufacturing.

Scott is currently consulting for retail and hospitality brands while designing and developing home decor products for Davila Casa, a collaboration with fashion designer Sergio Davila. Davila Casa is a collection of modern elements for the home made from natural resources in Peru, handcrafted by Peru’s finest artisans. The collection is currently selling in multiple retailers in the U.S. as well as Peru, including our own shop-in-shop in Cusco.
